The Dodgers are in the midst of a three-game losing streak, and now they must encounter the return of Roy Halladay for good measure. The Dodger offense has been dormant for well over a month now, and the plethora of injuries this season have really started to take their toll on the Dodgers. The most recent Dodger to be stricken is Chad Billingsley, who will not make his start today after experiencing elbow tenderness for the past few starts. Bills was placed on the 15-day DL retroactive to July 8th. His MRIs showed right elbow inflammation, but he was okayed to commence throwing. Hopefully Bills will only miss one start, but with Ted Lilly still disabled it now puts the Dodgers on a more urgent mission to acquire another starting pitcher. (more…)

There are so many statistics we can throw out about Clayton Kershaw this season, as well as tonight that it’s almost ridiculous. Kershaw bested Tim Lincecum for the 4th time in as many meetings this season, and became the 1st Dodgers pitcher to defeat the Giants 5 times in one season since Don Newcombe in 1951. (more…)
