He had an astronomical 17.55 ERA in his 6.2 innings of relief work.
Sad news came out of the Seattle Mariners camp today. They released Hong-Chih Kuo after he unfortunately struggled this Spring. He allowed 15 hits, 13 earned runs, five homeruns, four walks, four strikeouts, and hitters clobbered him with a .417 batting average.

After the Dodgers chose to non-tender Kuo, the Mariners signed him in February as a free agent. His one-year contract was worth $500,000 plus a bonus if he had made the 25-man roster. It wasn’t to be. Kuo had underwent a fifth elbow surgery this offseason, and he even wondered whether he would still be able to pitch. Being one of our favorites, we were all rooting for him to make a comeback and regain his 2010 form. (more…)

On August 27, 2011, the Dodgers were playing Colorado at home in the second game of a three game set. This late in the season we had long since given up on actually making the playoffs, and at this point we’re just hoping for a .500 finish. This game was like many of the Dodger-Rockie games of the 2011 season. It was a back and forth game with a lot of scoring. On a 100 degree day at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers who were down by four runs, rally to take the lead, by scoring five runs in the 6th inning. The Dodgers tied it in the 9th, on a Loney home run, and won it in the bottom of the 11th, on Matt Kemp’s third walk-off blast of the year…….Here is how it all happened…….
