It is important to take a look at the big picture, especially during a season that involves 162 games. Accordingly, Dodger fans shouldn’t assume that the sky is falling after getting handed the broom by our freeway foes. The Dodgers made a few moves yesterday, but nothing that will wow any of the fans, or make a world championship look more possible. Both Brad Ausmus and Ronnie Belliard re-signed with the club, and both will probably occupy backup roles with the team.

Several noteworthy things to pass along here on Lasorda’s Lair, as the Dodgers are starting to make a little noise in terms of free agency. While the noise isn’t particularly loud, it is noise nonetheless. LA has officially signed second baseman Jamey Carroll, and may be exploring a trade for Reds’ pitcher Aaron Harang.
