Hey Dodger fans, we may have found out who that mystery player is the Dodgers and Ned Colletti were hinting at trading for.       Awhile back Lasorda’s Lair had an article profiling the Dodgers prospects taking place in the prestigious Arizona Fall League. However that is not the only baseball currently being played involving young Dodgers prospects.

Boy it sure is nice that opposing teams continue to pitch to Matt Kemp with two outs and runners in scoring position and first base open. The Padres did just that in the 4th inning and Kemp knocked in Dee Gordon, who had gotten on base with his second infield hit. For Kemp it was his National League leading 84th RBI, for the Dodgers it would be all of the offense they would need.

It looks like the first Dodgers domino at the trade deadline is about to fall. According to Jayson Stark at ESPN the Dodgers and Cardinals “ were in serious negotiations Saturday on a trade that would send Furcal and cash to St. Louis.”

Dodgers Fans, that is a major rumor going on at the winter meetings.  There is some talk according to Ken Rosenthal at the winter meeting that this deal would “make sense” This deal is Prince Fielder being traded to the Dodgers!!!!! Prince Fielder would possibly traded for Jonathan Broxton and James Loney. According to reports on the blog Bronx Baseball Daily, the Dodgers and Yankees were on the verge of completing a trade.  The Los Angeles Dodgers would receive Yankees Catcher Francisco Cervelli.  On the other hand, the Yankees would’ve received catcher Russell Martin. Martin who batted .248 with 5 homeruns and 26 RBIS last season would’ve been competing for the starting catcher’s job for the Yankees.  (Jorge Posada is now their full time DH) Francisco Cervelli, who has one career homerun in two seasons at the big league level, is the Yankees backup catcher.  Last season he batted .271 with 38 [...]

Could it be true? Is Manny Ramirez just about done in L.A.? Well, according to multiple reports, including ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark, the Dodgers’ slugger is expected to be placed on waivers early this week (perhaps within the next 72 hours?). The Dodgers finally got their bat.  Unfortunately, his name is not Prince Fielder, Dan Uggla, Jose Bautista, or Adam Dunn. Ladies and gentleman, meet your new left fielder, Scott Podsednik .
