Hey Dodger fans, we may have found out who that mystery player is the Dodgers and Ned Colletti were hinting at trading for. Drum roll please…….it could be Chase Headley, another Padre, and a third baseman. I saw this reported on twitter per Molly Knight. Source: Dodgers looking into Chase Headley. Molly Knight Very interesting. So what do we know about Chase Headley? Well let’s take a look……..
Awhile back Lasorda’s Lair had an article profiling the Dodgers prospects taking place in the prestigious Arizona Fall League. However that is not the only baseball currently being played involving young Dodgers prospects.
T Rob Trade Breakdown Part 1 – FedEx
Tim Federowicz the key piece in the Trayvon Robinson trade has gone by FedEx since middle school. No sense in changing it now. I have numerous sites and scouting reports I’ve found about him, so I will share what I feel are the best and most reputable of those with you. Then offer my opinion, and please feel free to offer yours, you know you want to!
Boy it sure is nice that opposing teams continue to pitch to Matt Kemp with two outs and runners in scoring position and first base open. The Padres did just that in the 4th inning and Kemp knocked in Dee Gordon, who had gotten on base with his second infield hit. For Kemp it was his National League leading 84th RBI, for the Dodgers it would be all of the offense they would need.
Dodgers Close With Cardinals on Trade for Rafael Furcal
It looks like the first Dodgers domino at the trade deadline is about to fall. According to Jayson Stark at ESPN the Dodgers and Cardinals “ were in serious negotiations Saturday on a trade that would send Furcal and cash to St. Louis.”
PRINCE FIELDER TO DODGERS?????
Dodgers Fans, that is a major rumor going on at the winter meetings. There is some talk according to Ken Rosenthal at the winter meeting that this deal would “make sense” This deal is Prince Fielder being traded to the Dodgers!!!!! Prince Fielder would possibly traded for Jonathan Broxton and James Loney. Fielder batted .261 with 32 homeruns and had 83 RBIS last season. His career high is 50 homeruns and last season he led the league in walks with 114 (His own career high) Stay Tuned to Lasorda’s Lair. Once more information comes our way, IT WILL BE ON [...]
Russell Martin: Bronx Bound?
According to reports on the blog Bronx Baseball Daily, the Dodgers and Yankees were on the verge of completing a trade. The Los Angeles Dodgers would receive Yankees Catcher Francisco Cervelli. On the other hand, the Yankees would’ve received catcher Russell Martin. Martin who batted .248 with 5 homeruns and 26 RBIS last season would’ve been competing for the starting catcher’s job for the Yankees. (Jorge Posada is now their full time DH) Francisco Cervelli, who has one career homerun in two seasons at the big league level, is the Yankees backup catcher. Last season he batted .271 with 38 [...]
Dodgers’ Ramirez To Be Placed On Waivers?
Could it be true? Is Manny Ramirez just about done in L.A.? Well, according to multiple reports, including ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark, the Dodgers’ slugger is expected to be placed on waivers early this week (perhaps within the next 72 hours?). Conventional wisdom suggests that the Chicago White Sox are the leading candidates to place a claim on Manny. Ramirez’s contract, which is up after this season, is structured in such a way that teams could find a place for Manny on their roster. Any team that were to acquire Ramirez would owe his a prorated portion of his $20 million [...]
LA Begins Crucial 7 game Stretch Against Rivals
If the Dodgers feel like making up ground on the two teams ahead of them in the NL West, whom happen to be their biggest rivals, now is as good a time as any. The Blue Crew currently sit 7 games back of NL West leader San Diego and 3.5 games back of the Wild-Card leading Giants of San Francisco. They’ll have a chance to inflict direct damage on their competitors beginning tonight as they stroll into the bay for a three game set. After that, the Padres head to Chavez Ravine for four. Tonight won’t exactly be easy. The [...]
Dodgers Acquire OF Scott Podsednik From Royals
The Dodgers finally got their bat. Unfortunately, his name is not Prince Fielder, Dan Uggla, Jose Bautista, or Adam Dunn. Ladies and gentleman, meet your new left fielder, Scott Podsednik . The Dodgers sent minor league catcher Lucas May (Triple A) and pitcher Elisaul Pimentel (low-A) in exchange for the 34 year old speed demon. Before you ask whether they really missed Juan Pierre that badly, it’s worth noting that Podsednik has had a fantastic year for the Royals. Despite the lack of name recognition for the journeyman outfielder, Ned Colletti deserves credit for casting a wide net in his search [...]
