Steve Snure and Jeff Biddle have each been named as the newest vice presidents of the historic landmark. Biddle has been with historic Dodgertown since 2009, and O’Malley credits him with bringing athletic teams from around the world to compete at Vero Beach.

He understands the business of attracting and accommodating unique teams. O’Malley said of Biddle. During the last year Historic Dodgertown has welcomed various professional, and amateur teams from many different countries to train at Vero Beach. This includes clubs from countries such as, Canada, Netherlands, Denmark, Dominican Republic, France, Italy, Japan, and South Korea. According to O’Malley, Biddle and Snure will continue to work with longtime Vice President Craig Callan, and fellow vice president Brady Ballard.

Biddle started a spring training program for high school, and college Baseball in 2011. Since then the number of schools participating has almost tripled from 54 to 176. Spring training has been expanded for softball and lacrosse.

  • As for Snure, he was an executive chef for the conference center at Dodgertown, until the Dodgers moved to Glendale, Arizona. In 2009 he was hired to become the operations manager of the facility which includes the entire conference center, and other departments (Housekeeping, kitchen, dining room, lounge, and maintenance). He also handles the booking for sports teams to use the 80-acre campus for various events, such as camps, showcases, tournaments, and training.

Snure was also the Northeast Collegiate Baseball club general manager from 1986-1989. He was the assistant director of athletics, and then director of athletics for the Coco Expo Sports Center in 1989. Biddle resides in Ft. Pierce, while Snure resides in Vero Beach.

The Historic Dodgertown is now a multi-sport 80-acre complex, and managed by former Dodger owner Peter O’Malley in a partnership since 2012. Partnered with his sister Terry O’Malley Seidler, and former Dodger pitchers Chan Ho Park, and Hideo Nomo.

On November 10, 2014 Historic Dodgertown was named a national landmark for its historic significance, and unique cultural impact. The Historic Dodgertown was the spring training home of the Dodgers from 1948-2008. The multi-purpose facility owned by Indian River County now holds conferences, camps, training, and tournaments throughout the year for schools, professional, and amateur teams.

Even though Vero Beach is just a distant memory as the Dodgers now train at Camelback Ranch, we should never forget the legendary former spring training home of the Dodgers. With spring training coming to a close, it is the perfect time to look back and reflect on Dodgertown’s historical impact on the Dodgers, and the game of Baseball.

Congratulations to Jeff and Steve! Historical Dodgertown should never be forgotten, ever.
