  • League had a cortisone injection into the shoulder last week, but reported feeling fine during Sunday’s bullpen session. However the discomfort returned on Tuesday when he attempted to play catch. When asked about League’s chances of being ready by opening day, manager Don Mattingly simply stated “He hasn’t pitched in a while, you do the math”.

If you must do the math, then you can see that League is going to be out for a while. The right hander has pitched in just 1 1/3 innings this spring, and hasn’t pitched in a game since March 9.
