Dodgers Sign Chad Gaudin To Minor League Deal, Extend Him Invite To Major League Camp

The Dodgers have signed right hander Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract and have extended him an invite to Major League spring training camp. Ken Gurnick reported the deal via twitter on Wednesday morning.

We last saw the 31-year old right hander a couple of years ago when he was with the Giants. Gaudin is a Louisiana native originally drafted by the Rays in 2001. He made his MLB debut with Tampa Bay and has played with nine clubs over the course of his eleven Major League seasons. Gaudin has been a starter and a reliever in the past and has posted a 45-44 record in 344 games.

The right hander has a career 4.44 ERA/4.45 FIP while posting a career 7.2 strikeouts per nine rate, and 4.1 walk per nine rate in 836.1 Major League frames. In 2013 he pitched in 30 games for the Giants, while making 12 starts. That year he posted a 3.06 ERA/3.34 FIP with an 8.2 whiff per nine rate, and 3.7 walk per nine rate in 97 innings pitched. That season he had 88 whiffs against 40 walks, with a 5-2 record.
