A Day For Dodger Love

Dodger fans have a special place in their heart for the team they love, and Valentine’s Day brings out all the Blue love. Whether it is Yasiel Puig and Hyun-jin Ryu hugging it out in the dugout or Rod Barajas cradling Dee Gordon like a baby in the dugout, the Dodgers spread the love for their team and the city of Los Angeles with their affection for the game of baseball.

Can you be in love with baseball? I say yes. It’s hard not to fall in love with the beautiful game which plays out on the emerald green grass beneath the brilliant golden sun. Fans, sitting together, share their love for the Dodgers as they become emotionally involved during the games. I think we all remember the day we fell in love with Dodger baseball. For me, it was when I first peered over the stands and saw the awe inspiring sight of the field at Dodger Stadium for the first time as a child.

I could never break up with the Dodgers. Being a Dodger fan means you shall never waver from your devotion to the team. No matter how many failed postseason bids, bullpen meltdowns or disastrous seventh innings, we still love the Dodgers through the good times and the bad. Sometimes love isn’t easy, and either is our relationship with the Dodgers.

Baseball is like poetry, chocolates and flowers all rolled into one. Who needs flowers or chocolates when you can watch the irresistible game of baseball play out over the course of nine innings. Wait…can I have the chocolates and baseball?
