Minor Managerial Shakeup in Rancho Cucamonga
Changes are aplenty for the Dodgers and their farm system this offseason. With Spring Training a little more than two weeks away, the Single-A Rancho Cucamonga had a bit of a shakeup when manager P.J. Forbes resigned “for family reasons.”
Forbes joined the Dodgers in 2013 as the manager of the Arizona League Dodgers. He was promoted to Rancho Cucamonga in 2014. The Quakes finished 2014 with a record of 65-75 and fourth place in the California League South division.

The Dodgers, trying to cover all bases (the puns are just pouring out today and I apologize), have promoted Bill Haselman from his manager role for the Single-A Great Lakes Loons to the manager of the High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
There hasn’t been a replacement manager named for Great Lakes as of yet.
Gabe Kapler, the director of player development, has brought a new vision to the Dodgers farm system in order to bolster their minor league scouting and player development both domestically and internationally. This is the first managerial change within the minor league system under Kapler and Josh Byrnes.
Haselman will be the Quakes fourth manager over the last four years. The former Major League catcher is in his second season within the Dodgers organization, and the Great Lakes Loons finished with a record of 66-73 last season under Haselman.
Matt Herges was promoted from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga to the Double-A Tulsa Drillers staff as pitching coach earlier this offseason.
From the Quakes website:
"“While we wish P.J. and his family all the best, we now look forward to welcoming Bill Haselman to Rancho Cucamonga,” said Quakes Vice President/General Manager Grant Riddle. “We’re familiar with Bill from his earlier time in the league and we’re excited to get him in a Quakes’ jersey and welcome him to the Quakes’ family.”"
Here is the Quakes coaching staff for 2015:
Bill Haselman- Manager
Mike Eylward- Hitting Coach
Bill Simas– Pitching Coach
Rafael Ozuna- Coach
Jason Kirkman- Athletic Trainer
Lauren Green- Strength & Conditioning Coach
The Quakes open their season on April 9th in Bakersfield.
