I hope everyone is having a great Christmas. While you are probably spending quality time with family and friends, I thought I would drop you a line about some minor news during this slow time.

The Dodgers announced that they have outrighted outfielder and minor league slugger Kyle Jensen to triple-A Oklahoma. The outfielder/first baseman was acquired by the Dodgers from the Marlins via trade back on November 17th. Originally he was traded to the Dodgers for a player to be named later. Eventually the Dodgers sent minor league pitcher Craig Stem to the Fish to complete the deal.

  • The Dodgers designated Jensen for assignment on Friday to clear room on the roster for Jimmy Rollins. This was after the Matt Kemp trade finally was finished. Once that trade was officially announced, the Rollins trade could be finalized as well. And it was made official shortly after.

So Jensen will begin the season at Oklahoma, and I am assuming the club will probably give him an invite to spring training in order to give him a look.

Jensen a Walnut Creek, California native has hit 128 home runs and posted an .821 OPS in six minor league seasons in the Marlin’s organization.
