Ryan Jackson Traded To Royals For Cash or Magical Beans

So far this offseason has been one large snooze fest for the Dodgers. That snore-thon continued on Wednesday as the Dodgers announced a transaction. Hold onto your hats guys, big move coming here. The Dodgers have traded minor league infielder Ryan Jackson to Kansas City for cash considerations.

That’s how boring these moves are. The clubs have decided that this guy isn’t even worth giving up a player for. The two clubs are just going to be exchanging cash. Hey Kansas City tell you what, I’ve got five on it. Jackson was recently designated for assignment by the Dodgers in order to clear roster space when they acquired pitcher Juan Nicasio.

Jackson has only 25 major league plate appearances for the Cardinals back in 2012-2013. He’s collected just two major league hits, and has played in 20 big league games. Jackson has experience playing shortstop, second base, and third.

The 26-year old infielder spent the 2014 season between the Arizona rookie league Padres, and the triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas of the Pacific Coast League. He played in just five games for the AFL Padres, and six games for El Paso after recovering from right wrist surgery.

In 2013 Jackson played in 121 games for the triple-A Memphis Redbirds. He batted .278 (123 for 442) for Memphis with three home runs, and 34 runs batted in, while getting 510 plate appearances. Jackson is a career .268 minor league hitter with 27 home runs, and a .701 OPS in 576 games and six minor league seasons.
