Clayton Kershaw was unanimously voted National League Most Valuable Player and National League Cy Young Award winner by Lasorda’s Lair picking up his first two Blue Ribbon Awards.
Mike Trout received five first place votes for American League Most Valuable Player.
The closest race in the Blue Ribbon Awards came in the category of Dodger Defensive Player of the Year. Juan Uribe garnered four first place voted to Yasiel Puig‘s three first place votes.
⇒ESPN2 4 p. m. PT Tuesday, November 4th- The awards season get under way beginning with the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards. Four Dodgers are nominated for Rawlings Gold Glove Awards: Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke. Adrian Gonzalez and Juan Uribe. Greinke has never won a Gold Glove Award in his career. The ace pitcher only commited one error all season and made some fantastic defensive plays throughout the season. Greinke was robbed last year of the Gold Glove when finalist Adam Wainwright took home the honor. Clayton Kershaw won the Gold Glove in 2011 and committed two errors all season while making behind the back catches and diving into double plays. My bet is on Zack Greinke for the Gold Glove at pitcher.
Juan Uribe deserves a Gold Glove, but he is contending again with 2013 winner Nolan Arenado and World Champion third base man Pablo Sandoval.
