Back-to-back is where it’s at! With a formidable heart of the order lineup this season for the Dodgers, I would think they would have hit more consecutive homeruns. Once Matt Kemp moved up in the order after proving he still was the slugger we had all loved back in 2011, the two top Dodgers homerun hitters of 2014 put on a show during a 7-2 win over the struggling D-backs.

7. 9/7/14: Adrian Gonzalez clubs a three-run home run to left-center field, his second of the game to net his 100th RBI on the season.

It was during yet another Zack Greinke start which netted him his 14th win on the season that the Dodgers crushed

three homeruns against the Snakes to give them their 81st win of the season.

Adrian Gonzalez hit two-three run homeruns,  and his six RBIs gave him a cool 100 RBIs on the season for the seventh time of his career. Trevor Cahill had been shutting down the Dodgers at the plate for most of the game, but after a Dee Gordon double and a Hanley Ramirez walk, Adrian Gonzalez launched his first of two three-run homeruns catapulting the Dodgers into the lead.

The Dodgers broke the game open in the bottom of the seventh. Dee Gordon reached base again on a walk, and Hanley Ramirez reached safely on a fielding error by shortstop Cliff Pennington. That would set the stage once again for Gonzo, the Dodgers’ “Butter and Egg Man.” Adrian launched another three-run homerun against reliever Oliver Perez for his 22nd homerun of the season.

On the very next pitch, Matt Kemp took a Perez fastball (not Chris Perez, but yes he serves up meatballs as well) deep over the fence in left field for his 19th homerun.

Bubbles were flowing throughout the Dodger dugout during the homer fest, and Kirk Gibson watched the Boys in Blue celebrate at Dodger Stadium in one of his last games as Arizona’s manager. After a previous season filled with brawls, rivalry and pool parties, the Dodgers did their best to show Gibson and company who are the best on the baseball diamond by beating their division rival squarely. It felt good to put to bed the drama and to do so with glorious Dodger homeruns.

"“I think he’s been our most consistent hitter throughout the year,” Kemp said. “That home run gave him 100 RBIs, didn’t it? It’s pretty clutch hitting. He knows how to drive in runs, and we need those kinds of guys on our team.”"
