What’s better than one homerun against Madison Bumgarner and the rival Giants? Two homeruns in the same game of course! That’s just what surprise Dodger star Justin Turner did in September at Dodger Stadium. Justin Turner and Matt Kemp both hit homeruns against Giants’ ace Madison Bumgarner (a double dose of bubble action by Turner) which resulted in the Dodgers lowering their then Magic Number to 1 game in the N.L. West.

run homerun of his own, but Justin Turner had his number during this late season game. Turner, who was in to play second base in the lead-off spot instead of Dee Gordon, slugged a lead-off homerun to left field in the bottom of the first inning. The Dodgers continued to rough up Bumgarner, and Matt Kemp later hit a two-run homerun also in the first inning.

Justin Turner hit his second homerun off Bumgarner in the bottom of the eighth. Turner’s second homer of the night resulted in Bruce Bochy lifting Bumgarner from the game.

Between the two Turner homeruns things got heated between the the rival teams resulting in the clearing of the benches and bullpens. Bumgarner hit Puig with a pitch causing him to fall to the ground. Bumgarner threw down his glove to urge Puig to fight him, but luckily the brouhaha settled down before anyone was hurt or ejected.

"“It was a blast,” Turner said. “I was floating around on those bases, and the fans were going nuts. They were awesome tonight, and they were awesome last night, and I know they’re going to be even louder tomorrow, and hopefully, we can get it done tomorrow night.”"

Justin Turner quickly became a fan favorite after hitting .340 in 109 games for the Dodgers. He hit 7 homeruns and drove in 43 RBIs. Once a non-roster invite during Spring Training, Justin Turner solidified his place on the club with an impressive season. There’s no faster way to this Dodger fan’s heart than to blast two homeruns in one game against the pumpkin-colored foes.
