The Dodgers made a move this afternoon. They called up infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena and optioned the infinitely awful Carlos Triunfel. Arruebarrena had been on the triple-A disabled list with shoulder inflammation, but appears to be ok to play. The 24-year old infielder was batting .333 (28 for 84) with one home run and 11 RBI in 95 plate appearances with Albuquerque. In 26 games for the Isotopes he split time between shortstop, second and third base. He spent most of his time however (18 games) at shortstop.

It appears the Dodgers have finally come to their senses about Carlos Triunfel, who has just been putrid in his time with the club. The 24-year old journeyman infielder has been up and down with the club now five different times and has sucked each time he has been recalled. Triunfel has been horrendous on both sides of the ball, offensively and defensively.

Triunfel was batting .133 (2 for 15) with one home run in 16 plate appearances with the Dodgers. In the field he played ten games at shortstop with the big club.

Arruebarrena should see time at shortstop, second base, and third base with both Hanley Ramirez, and Juan Uribe on the disabled list nursing injuries.
