Arruebarrena Gets The Call, Uribe Hits The DL

So It’s Erisbel Arruebarrena getting the call as the Dodgers have placed Juan Uribe on the 15-day disabled list. Uribe strained his hamstring again in the ninth inning of the Dodger’s 9-4 win over the Mets at Citi Field Tuesday night. Uribe pulled up into second base lame after hitting a double, and had to be removed from the game.

The Dodgers signed the 23-year old Cuban infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena this spring as an amateur free agent. The deal was for 25 million dollars and the Dodgers placed him at double- A Chattanooga to start the season.

The Cuban infielder has been known to be a whizz with the glove, but not much of a hitter. In 25 games for Chattanooga he was hitting .208 with one home run and six RBIs in 96 at-bats. His OBP is .252 and he has just walked just four times.

Arruebarrena is heading to the ball park right now and should be available, and in uniform by game time.

The Dodgers are unable to call up Alexander Guerrero because Miguel Olivo bit his ear off.

Now the last mystery to be revealed is who the Dodgers will be cutting to make room for Hyun-jin Ryu. Ryu is being activated from the disabled list tonight and will be making the start for the Dodgers. He had been battling a shoulder issue and has not pitched since April 27th.

The only players remaining that have options are reliever Chris Withrow, and utility man Chone Figgins. We should have an answer by game time.
