Hanley Ramirez has apparently reinjured his right thumb or hand, and has been removed from the game Saturday evening at Dodger Stadium. During the bottom of the third inning of the Dodger’s second game of their three game weekend series with Colorado, Hanley was seen writhing in pain while sitting in the dugout after an at-bat. Hanley had originally injured the thumb after getting hit by a pitch while the Dodgers were in San Francisco.

Hanley was batting in the third frame and reached for an outside pitch, grounding out. He appeared fine while jogging back to the dugout. However the camera focused on him as he was sitting in the dugout, and we saw him writhing in pain, and grabbing his right hand.
Medical director Stan Conte was talking to Hanley and looking at his hand. Hanley was ready to go back into the game, standing on the top steps, but Conte stopped him, and Hanley went into the clubhouse shortly after.

Justin Turner who started at third base, moved over to short, and Juan Uribe, who had been given the day off was put into the game at third. Sorry Papi, you’ll get a day off on Monday.

The Dodgers are leading 4-2 in the fifth inning. Stacie will have more news on Hanley’s injury in her recap after the game.
