The San Francisco series was pretty frustrating, but it’s over now and let’s just move on. The Dodgers return home tonight after a 4-2 road trip, and have their sights set on starting a winning streak. The club will begin a ten game home stand and will play Arizona, Philadelphia, and then Colorado. The home stand kicks off with a three-game series against Arizona. What better way to take out some much-needed aggression than by beating up on the hapless Snakes again? Am I right? Or am I right?

So this is what a Baseball looks like right?-Lance Iversen-USA TODAY Sports

As you know Arizona has gotten off to a dreadful start. The club is 4-14 and is so bad that the rumors are already circulating about Kirk Gibson’s possible firing. Can’t say I feel bad about that at all. I love Gibson for what he did for the Dodgers in 1988, but don’t care for him much now. I love the old Gibson, but the present Gibson, the manager of the Snakes is someone I can’t stand. Hey he made the decision to put on that ugly maroon uniform. Nobody put a gun to his head. You made your bed Gibby.

The starting pitching for Arizona has been so bad, that they had to move Josh Collmenter into the rotation. They then moved Randall Delgado to the bullpen to replace Collmenter’s spot. Tonight they’ll give the ball to country bumpkin left hander Wade Miley.

Miley is pretty country. Maybe not quite as country as the man of constant sorrows, Roy Oswalt, but still pretty country. Miley, is 2-2 with a 5.04 ERA this season, and the Dodgers have already beaten him twice. We’re very accustomed to Wade Miley. The left hander is 3-3 with a 4.21 career ERA against the Dodgers.

Let’s hope Miley will be in constant sorrow after tonight’s game. Here’s how the Boys in Blue have fared against Miley.

The Dodgers will counter with right hander Zack Greinke. In his last start, Greinke beat Arizona when he tossed 5.1 innings of one-run ball. He whiffed eight in that game, and has whiffed 21 and walked only two this season. Greinke has gotten off to a great start this year, and is 3-0 with a 2.76 ERA. Greinke is 3-3 with a 4.96 ERA against the Snakes. Here’s Greinke’s numbers against the Snakes, who are only hitting .247 against the birdman.

Hanley Ramirez is supposed to be back in the lineup after missing a game because of a sore hand caused by being hit by a pitch in Wednesday night’s game at San Francisco. X-rays were negative thankfully, and it appears it’s nothing more than just a sore hand. Ken Gurnick reported that Hanley had told him he would be back in the lineup on Friday. Let’s hope so, and if not then it’s another game of Justin Turner at shortstop. Please come back soon Hanley.

The Birdman-Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Adrian Gonzalez is on quite a tear lately, he has a 12 game hitting streak, and during the streak he has hit five home runs, and driven in 14 runs.

The Dodgers have won every game they’ve played against Arizona. They are 5-0, and I hope they beat Arizona every time they play them. Wouldn’t it be grand to see the Dodgers go 19-0 versus the Snakes this year? That would be the ultimate smack down, and I hope Greinke keeps his pimp hand strong.

We’ll have our nightly game recap coming up immediately following the 7:10 PM game.
