We’ve got another awesome contest for you guys! This one is pretty cool. Start Four is a fantasy sports style game just for Dodger games. The game is all about picking the four players you think will play the best in the day’s game, and you get points based on how your players perform.
The catch 22 is that you can’t just pick the best four players in the game. You can’t just pick four Clayton Kershaws, or four Hanley Ramirez’s, for example. You actually have a budget to pick your players. All you do is just sign up, and pick/purchase your four players for that day’s game (using your allowable budget). There has been a Lasorda’s Lair Group created for this, and you can sign up there at any time, and begin playing and you can start selecting your favorite players on the morning of the games.
Once you’ve selected your players and the game begins, the goal is to pick the players you think will produce the most points for you. You’ll get a score that will compare to the perfect lineup’s points. The perfect lineup is the lineup that got the most points possible in a game. The closer you get to the perfect lineup the higher your score will be, and it is possible to earn a perfect score with your lineup. Here’s how the scoring looks like.
Run Batted In
We’ll be holding the contest starting on Tuesday evening for the April 15-17 series at San Francisco against the Giants. We’ll be giving away prizes for the top three contestants with the highest scores for each Dodger game of the series. For each game there is a leader board, so contestants can see who had the best score for that day, and where they rank. And if there are any ties, then the next game would be the tiebreaker.
Some of the prizes will include gift certificates to MLB.com, and other Dodger and MLB merchandise. We’ll announce all the official rules and prizes for the contest, when we announce it on Monday. So check back over here at Lasorda’s Lair on Monday evening for more details. We’ll be having these start Four contests throughout the season. So sign up for the Lasorda’s Lair Group, and start playing now. Your lineup just may be the winning lineup.
