*Winner Drawn* Win a Opening Day Program!

Congratulations to MeekoDev! You have won the Opening Day Dodgers program. Please send me your shipping info. Thanks to everyone who entered. Stay tuned for more contests throughout the season.

For the third season in a row, we are giving away a Opening Day Dodgers program to one Lasorda’s Lair reader! Some of you may not have been able to attend the home opener in person, but we have a small Opening Day 2014 souvenir to give away to one lucky person. I picked this up myself during the game today which the Dodgers unfortunately lost with a score of 8-4 to the Giants.  This April edition of Dodger Insider Magazine features a beautiful cover photo of Clayton Kershaw.

I’m excited for Matt Kemp’s return. His defense was a little rough but the RBI double was encouraging.

What gets me excited about each & every season is. Now bear in mind, there have been some exciting seasons over the years with big names attached. As a kid my favorites were Duke Snyder & Frank Howard. We, at one time, had arguably the best pitcher ever in Sandy Koufax. Later it was Fernando-mania. During our runs to World Series in the 70′s we had the same infield for years. Garvey, Russell, Cey, Lopes, & Yeager. Then you want to talk Managers, how about Walt Alston, only to be replaced by Tommy LaSorda. All of these great players, and so many more not mentioned. Sitting in the stands at Dodger Stadium with my glove, next to my Dad. So much changes over the years, players, free agency, peds. Even I have changed, I now live in N. Cal., Giants territory. Not Good. But not all that bad either because of that one thing that is constant with the Dodgers. It’s been with the Dodgers since I can remember. It allows me to enjoy my Dodgers here, in N. Cal. That one constant, just the sound of it, gets me excited for this & every other season. The thing that gets me excited for this season is the voice of Vin Scully. Hands down, The Best, announcer ever. That voice is so distinguishable, I mean it shouts Dodger Blue. Thank You for each & every game where you actually take me back in time to all those memories. Thank You Vin Scully!

Looking forward to traveling with the Dodgers on some road games this year. Since I’m in Chicago I can’t see them back at home anymore and will be traveling to ballparks in the midwest :D

I’m looking forward to taking my son to some new ballparks like K.C. to see our Dodgers this year and watching Hanley Ramirez bash his way to the MVP.
