Greetings to my fellow Lasorda’s Lair peeps. Back by popular demand I have uploaded more videos of live batting practice from Dodgers Spring Training 2014.  Below you will see live footage that is available exclusively at Lasorda’s Lair. The first video is a short glimpse of Ross Stripling as he warms up for his live batting practice session. It’s only a few pitches but the cool thing is you get a view of Stripling’s delivery as seen through the eyes of a hitter, or as close to it as I could get. It also illustrates his “over the top” delivery to the plate which allows him to generate a tremendous downhill plane, which results in his ability to keep the ball low in the strike zone.

Next is footage of Jose Dominguez throwing a batting practice session. What you will enjoy about this is you will finally get to see Alexander Guerrero face live pitching. He actually gets a base hit his first at bat off of Dominguez. Also in the rotation are Carl Crawford and Andre Ethier. The video gets a little shaky when I zoom in on Guerrero but you get a better view of his swing with the zoom and based on your feedback you wanted to see as much Guerrero as possible.

Next up we get another shot of Guerrero as he faces

Seth Rosin

, the Dodgers Rule 5 draft pick. He is a big young man with huge legs, and if he can continue to incorporate his legs into his delivery he could find a role with the club. It was early spring training and he was throwing easy but the ball really gets on the hitters quickly. He has also been working with

Rick Honeycutt

to lengthen his stride ala

Kenley Jansen

which also helps get the ball from the mound to the plate quicker.

Finally Alexander has his best AB, IMO, of the time I was at camp as he get’s a base hit off of Sam Demel, enjoy.
