*Update* The Dodgers have placed Matt Kemp on the DL with an ankle sprain and activated Ted Lilly* Not the news we want to hear before the club goes for their sixth win in a row, but we knew Kemp was going to be out for a while. We may end up seeing Lilly tonight if things get rough at the Rogers Centre, Let’s hope that they don’t

This is amazing. Did the Dodgers really just win in a game where Chris Capuano allowed five runs, and Carlos Marmol and Brandon League pitched? Did the Dodgers really just come from five runs behind to score seven runs from the sixth inning through the eighth inning to maintain their half game lead in the NL West, and win their sixth game in a row? Are the Blue Jays this bad? Is Darren Oliver really still pitching? The answer to all of those questions is a resounding yes. The Dodger’s incredible 10-9 comeback win yesterday is still ringing in our ears. Adrian Gonzalez’s mammoth three-run shot was the bell that tolled for thee.

You can’t stop the Dodgers. They are clearly on a mission, and operating on all cylinders right now. The Dodgers have won 22 of their last 27 games, and are looking for not just a sweep of the three game series with Toronto, but a sweep of the entire six game road trip. Lost in all of the euphoria is the fact that the Dodgers have scored 24 runs over the last two games. The Rogers Centre is quite ridiculous. Do those Canadian’s like their Baseball like this? It’s like Coors Field up there.

The Dodgers are now officially a winning road team at 25-24, and have won nine road games in a row. Everything is just gravy now, and I never want it to stop. Pour it on thick Dodgers, like a nice creamy turkey dinner.

In the final game of the series, the Dodgers will hand the ball to right hander Ricky Nolasco. Rialto Ricky’s last start July 19 at Washington produced a no-decision. Nolasco was alright allowing two runs on eight hits through 5.1 innings. Since joining the Dodgers, Nolasco has whiffed 11 and walked five. Nolasco has faced the Jays just once. In that game he allowed two runs on five hits in six frames, but picked up a no-decision. Nolasco is 6-9 with a 3.75 ERA and 101 whiffs.

The current group of Blue Jays are hitting .320 (33 for 105) off of Nolasco with Jose Reyes providing the pop with three home runs. Check out what the rest of the Jays have done against Ricky.

Toronto will counter with Esmil Rogers. Whoa, wait a minute, did I really just type Esmil Rogers? Yes I did, and I am trying not to burst out in laughter. Oh screw it I’m laughing. This is the same Esmil Rogers who was horrendous in Colorado. Rogers has actually been pretty decent this season. The 27 year old right hander has a 4-3 record, and a 3.84 ERA in 32 games. He’s been a spot starter, which is what he is doing now. He has seen a pretty major decline in his strikeout rate. This season he has whiffed 53 and walked 23, which sees his rate drop to 6.2. His walk rates have steadily declined though, which is good. He limited Cleveland to one run on four hits through six frames with seven whiffs. Apparently J.P. Arencibia attributes his recent run of decent outings to his development of a sinker ball. I’m sure that has increased Roger’s ground ball rate in 2013. Roger’s has no record against the Dodgers, but the numbers are showing the Dodgers are hitting .409 (18 for 44) against Rogers. Juan Uribe has hit two home runs.

Did anyone notice that Brandon League was somewhat effective last night? He did pitch a scoreless frame, and whiffed Arencibia to end the inning. Stick with me here guys, maybe the Dodgers brought in Carlos Marmol to help League with his confidence. Because he’s been a little bit better of late, and now with Marmol in the bullpen taking over the role as King Bum, League’s confidence will increase now that he knows he is no longer the worst reliever in the bullpen. Baby steps right? All I know is the Cubs better appreciate what we have done for them here, taking Marmol off their hands for practically nothing. So in return can you beat the Snakes later tonight for us? We’re not asking for much here Chicago.

Can the Dodgers make it a clean sweep of the road trip? What will the getaway day lineup look like? We should have a nice relaxing Marmol free day ahead of us. Let’s hope the Dodgers can make it a nice even half dozen wins I a row. Find out what happens tonight at 4:07 PM on KCAL 9. Then jump back over here to read our game recap. Note that Stacie is on vacation until Friday, so it’s just you and me and the Dodgers until Friday evening. She picked some time to go on vacation. let’s make some Canadian bacon. Go Blue.
