The Dodgers didn’t lose today. The Dodgers didn’t win today either. Game two of Spring Training for the Dodgers ended in a 2-2 tie on Sunday afternoon in Arizona. Zack Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu both pitched scoreless ball in their debuts in Blue.
Greinke started for the Dodgers on this windy day, and he pitched two scoreless innings. He collected two strikeouts in the first inning (Wise and Rios). The right-hander allowed 1 hit to Keppinger. Ryu got Blake Tekotte to hit a comebacker for an out, he struck out Gordon Beckham, allowed a triple to Dewayne Wise, and ended the third frame by getting Jeff Keppinger to fly out to left.
The Dodgers would finally score their first run of the Spring in the top of the third inning. Tim Federowicz led off the top of the third with a double to right field. Jeremy Moore drew a walk. Hanley Ramirez then singled with two outs allowing FedEx to score.
Erik Johnson pitched three innings for the Cubs, allowing 4 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts.
The Dodgers had eight hits today, and they managed to bring in a couple of runs. Ryu and Greinke looked good as well.
Tomorrow Chad Billingsley will go to the mound for the first time since last August, and Vin Scully will be calling his first game of 2013 which will be televised on Prime Ticket.
