I hope that you are all having a wonderful Christmas with your friends and family. Unfortunately Andruw Jones did not have a jolly Christmas, and he spent the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday in a Georgia jail.
It has been reported that the former Dodger was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery after a disagreement with his wife which led to the police arriving at his Duluth, Georgia home at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Jones was booked in jail at 3:45 a.m., and he was released after posting a $2,400 bond by 11 a.m. on Christmas day.
I had just wrote about Jones and his new one-year $3.5 million contract with the Tohoku
Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan. It is unclear whether this arrest will have any effect on his transition to the Japanese Pacific Baseball League.
This story is still developing, and we will relay any new information about the alleged domestic battery incident.
