The Los Angeles Dodgers have improved to 8-3-2 by beating the Texas Rangers 5-2 at Camelback Ranch at Glendale Arizona. Today’s game saw the Dodgers beat up on the defending AL champion Texas Rangers. James Loney returned to the lineup after battling a sore calf muscle over the last couple of days. Loney proved he was just fine by Bombing a three run shot into the Camelback bleacher seats, to give the Dodgers a three run lead. After that, they never looked back. Ted Lilly provided four scoreless frames allowing only 1 hit, and Juan Rivera went two for two with two runs scored.

Andre Ethier led off the second inning with a double, Rivera walked, and then Loney bombs one off of Reynolds, 3-0 Dodgers. The Dodgers added another run in the third inning when Mark Ellis doubled, and came around to score on an Ethier Sacrifice fly. By then it was 4-0 Dodgers. the Rangers did score when Brandon Snyder and Alberto Gonzalez, each hit solo home runs off of a rusty Kenley Jansen.

The Dodgers would add one more run in the bottom of the 6th, on consecutive singles from Juan Rivera, James Loney, and Juan Uribe. Yes Uribe even had a two hit game today! Yes Juan Uribe….yeah Uribe, he had two hits! not one but two. Trust me I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. That finally brings Uribe back up to the mendoza line for the spring.

Tomorrow the Dodgers will play two split squad games on the road. The first in the afternoon at 105PM against Colorado. Nathan Eovaldi will counter Jeremy Guthrie. Expect to see Ryan Tucker, Fernando Nieve, Will Savage, and Alberto Castillo in that game as well. However the night game is the most important game. At 705PM, Aaron Harang will go for the Dodgers against Brain Burres of the Giants. This will be the first game we get to hear Vin Scully’s beautiful voice. The first game is on MLB network only, and the night cap with Vinny is on PT. It will be Vinny’s first game of 2012. Check in with us tomorrow, as our Senior writer Kenny Shulsen will have more live news and updates from spring training. Keep it here Dodger fans. Go Blue
