Hello, Dodger fans!

Today the Dodgers will play the Colorado Rockies at Glendale, Arizona for the first time this year. The Dodgers coming fresh off their victory over the Angels and Jered Weaver, now have one of the best spring records in Baseball at 6-1-2. Things are going pretty well right now for the Dodgers. Juan Rivera and Andre Ethier are swinging hot bats, the Dodger pitching has been excellent, and hey they even lead the majors in fewest errors allowed. How bout that?

I will make this short and sweet since I am battling the flu. Today’s game is on Prime Ticket, and we’ll see Chris Capuano take the mound for the Dodgers. Game time is at 1:05 PM on Prime Ticket.

*James Loney has a tight calf muscle and will sit out today’s game. Jerry Sands will play first base, and Scott Van Slyke will play in left field.*

In other news, the third annual Dodgertown Baseball Classic is all set to take place today at Dodger Stadium. UC Irvine and UC Pepperdine will play the first game at 2 PM. The USC and UCLA game will follow at 6:30 PM. Both games will count in the NCAA final Baseball standings. You can buy tickets for the game here Dodgertown classic Tickets  A 12 dollar ticket will give you access to see both games. The gates open at 1 pm, and the parking is free! Yeah how bout that Dodger fans? Free parking!

In other news, there is a lame rumor going around that the Dodgers are thinking about going with a 13-man pitching staff because Jerry Hairston Jr. can play the infield and outfield. This rumor is being perpetuated by a Buster Olney Piece. Mike Petriello of MSTI talks about it in depth. Honestly I find it very, very unlikely to happen. Only having four guys on the bench and being limited in the late innings would be a very bad idea for the Dodgers. Besides Hairston and Adam Kennedy are making the club obviously, so is Tony Gwynn Jr., and Matt Treanor is the backup catcher. So who would theoretically get the axe? It could be Jerry Sands. However like I said I just don’t see that happening. This would put the Dodgers in a huge disadvantage in late inning situations. Remember normally there is only five players on a major league bench during the season. One is a backup catcher, who is rarely ever used late in games as a pinch hitter. (unless that player is Dioner Navarro, but I digress) Which means the Dodgers would only have three pinch hitters off the bench to use. This is not necessary, especially when the Dodgers already have a strong bullpen. However decisions have to be made, as roster cuts are coming soon. We will keep you informed about this story, if it continues to develop.

On the Dodger sale front, real estate developer Alan Casden has had his bid thrown out. This means that the bidder list is now down to only six left. The final six remaining are Steven Cohen, Magic Johnson/Stan Kasten group, Stan Gold, Memphis Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley/Tony Ressler, and investor Leo Hindery.

If you remember Casden nearly bought the team eight years ago, but at the last minute the McCourts swooped in and bought the team from the Fox News Corp. Bidders have been meeting with the MLB committee, and final bids are due by Friday. Remember Frank McCourt must pick a winning bidder by April 1st, and the sale must be completed by April 30th.

It looks like we will have our first looks at the Rockies, and the big three of Cargo, Mullet Man, and Notorious Dodger killer Todd Helton. Join us after the game for our recap. Ronald Belisario, Alberto Castillo, Steven Fife, and Matt Chico are all expected to make relief appearances in today’s game. While my fever continues to get hotter, so do the Dodger’s play. A Dodger win today would be the perfect medicine to cure my flu. Today’s game is televised on Prime Ticket. Never lose hope guys. Go Blue
