Kershaw Receives Cy Young Plaque Tonight

Tonight at the Baseball writer’s dinner, Clayton Kershaw will receive his Cy Young Award plaque. The dinner will take place in New York, but not before Kershaw made a stop at the New York stock exchange. Kershaw has been touring around Southern California with his wife Ellen to promote their book called “Arise”. A book written about their lives, and charity work in Africa. Kershaw will be flying out Dodger’s pitching coach Rick Honeycutt as his guest for the dinner. Honeycutt has been the Dodgers pitching coach for the last six seasons.

Clayton Kershaw won the 2011 NL Cy Young Award last season for his complete and total domination over all opponents. Kershaw won the pitching triple crown by leading the league in wins, ERA, and strikeouts. He was 21-5 with a 2.28 ERA, and 248 strikeouts. Kershaw also was selected to his first all-star game, won his first gold glove, adding to his shelf already full of hardware. Kershaw has blossomed into a superstar, and it’s been a joy to watch. This young man is special. At only 23 years old, he is the greatest Dodger pitcher since Sandy Koufax. I had the honor of meeting Kershaw and his wife Ellen, last week, at one of their book signings. Once again, congratulations to Clayton Kershaw, for one of the greatest seasons by a Dodger pitcher since Koufax.
