Loney Signs One Year Deal, Avoids Arbitration

We’re now learning that James Loney has accepted a one year deal with the Dodgers. Like Ethier, he will avoid salary arbitration. According to reports the contract is a one year deal Loney Contract Tweet worth 6.375 million dollars. MLB Trade Rumors Arbitration projections had him making 6.5 million. Loney last season batted .288 after a terrible start to the year. Loney hit 12 home runs but 8 of them were in the last two months of the season that saw him change his swing resulting in a torrid final two months, and he had a Phoenix from the ashes resurrection. Loney drove in 65 runs, and played good defense at first base. With Loney agreeing to a deal, that leaves Clayton Kershaw as the only Dodger who’s arbitration case is still pending.
