Wil Ledezma

Dodgers Sign Wil Ledezma

The Dodgers continued their shopping by signing veteran journeyman reliever left hander Wil Ledezma. Who is Wil Ledezma? The 30 year old is from Valle de la Pascua, Guarico, Venezuela. Ledezma was signed as an amateur free agent by the Red Sox in 1998. Ledezma has bounced around the majors from 2003 until this year, pitching for seven different teams, and pitching quite poorly I might add. Ledezma has pitched for Detroit, Atlanta, Arizona, San Diego, Washington, Pittsburgh, and last season for Toronto. He was sent back to AAA at the end of the year.

Ledezma who was once a starter, has a 15-25 record, and a 5.40 ERA. Ledezma has a BB/9 of 4.5 and a SO/9 of 6.4. Ledezma was signed to a minor league contract. This has to be a restocking Albuquerque move right? Although he did have 22 strikeouts, and only 6 walks in 19.2 innings with Pittsburgh in 2010, and he is left handed. You never know.

Before I sign off, don’t forget to check out our poll and let us know who you would like to see buy the Dodgers. Mark Cuban? Dennis Gilbert? Peter O’Malley? Fred Claire? or the Hershiser/Garvey group? Cast your votes! And always Go Blue!
