Meanwhile Dodgers Shut-Out Giants get Back to Even

Dana Freaking Eveland shut-out the G-Men for 7 innings as the Dodgers improved to 72-and-72 on the season. Exactly average. Kenley Jansen did what he does best, striking out 2 in 1 inning of work, although he did give up a hit which is rare.

Remarkably Jansen’s ERA is down to 3.15 on the year and he has a sparkling 77 K’s in 45 IP, after a brutal start. Javy Guerra put 2 guys on, but as usual held on for the save.

Juan Rivera had 3 hits an RBI and a run scored. Matt Kemp tripled and scored, Jerry Sands had an RBI and the Dodgers scored on a balk. All part of a second straight win over the G-Men, this one a tasty shut-out.

The Dodgers face a red-hot Madison Bumgarner, so runs will be at a premium Sunday afternoon. However, with the Giants offense these days, 1 run may very well be enough for the Dodgers. Obviously this is based on Hiroki Kuroda doing his thang.

Also a shout out to the Dodgers Rookie League Affiliate Ogden Raptors and Owner Dave Baggott. They play the 3rd and final game in the Pioneer League Southern Division playoffs Sunday at 4PM MT. Lasorda’s Lair will be in the house with the usual important AB’s and rowdy Ogden home crowd.

Up North, Missoula and Great Falls have split their first 2 games, so a Raptor W earns a trip to Montana. Good luck Rookie Squad and get your brooms ready, I’m calling it Sands takes Bumgarner yard!
