Kemp and Kershaw Lead Dodgers Past D-Backs

Clayton Kershaw allowed 4 runs (No earned thanks to a Juan Uribe error) on only 5 hits over 7 innings for his 10th win and Matt Kemp added 4 RBI, including his 23rd homer of the season, and threw out a runner at home plate, to give the Dodgers a 6-to-4 win. The Dodgers have won 5 straight games and now sit at 9 games under .500.

Juan Rivera got off to a smashing debut as a Dodger homering on the first pitch he saw, he singled in his 2nd at-bat and scored. The Dodgers led 6-to-0 going into the bottom of the 7th but the D-Backs scored 4 runs with 2 outs, the big blast a 3-run homer from Xavier Nady.

Mike MacDougal pitched a scoreless 8th inning only allowing a walk, hopefully enhancing his trade value in the process. Hong-Chih Kuo got the first two outs of the 9th inning allowing a walk. Javy Guerra then gave up a single to Nady to bring the winning run to the plate, but he struck out Brandon Allen to get the final out and the save.

The Dodgers will look to make it 6 straight tomorrow as Hiroki Kuroda faces the Diamondbacks ace Ian Kennedy. Kuroda has been the subject of trade rumors as both the Tigers and Red Sox have expressed interest in acquiring the right-handed starter.
