I think he ran out of gas last year, and I don't think Torre leaving him in on National TV to throw 44 pitches and get pounded by the Yankees did anything for his physical or mental state of being. Let's hope the new Skipper can instill some toughness in this talented yet psychologically brittle core group of talented youngsters. I love Broxton but he did lose 4 to 5 mph off his heater, his ability to locate pitches was iffy. I don't have the pitch counts but I'd guess he threw more sliders than ever before.
