Dodger Fans, Russell Martin is in a precarious situation for his career. The Dodgers may not offer him a tendered contract. If the contract dispute leads to arbitration, he may make anywhere from four million to seven million next season. This now begs a very important question. Should the Dodgers keep Russell Martin or let him go in search of another starting catcher?

Last season Russell Martin batted .248 with 5 homeruns and 26 RBIS. His batting average has decreased each of the last four seasons. The former all star catcher’s career seems to be at a crossroads. He is not the same player that he used to be in 2007 when he batted .293 with 19 homeruns and 87 RBIS. Do the Dodgers want to take a risk and bring Martin back next season?

There are a good amount of free agent catchers for teams to choose this offseason. Two catchers you can choose from are AJ Pierzynski and Rod Barajas.
