Billingsley, Dodgers Hope to Rebound

Chad Billingsley, one of the Dodgers young pitchers, has struggled so far this season and will look to help Los Angeles rebound tonight against the Brewers. Last night, the Dodgers were smoked 11-6, and their pitching staff struggled once again. The staff’s inconsistent start to the season has LA in last place at 11-15. They now trail the Padres by 5.5 games and have now been outscored by their opponents by seven runs (137-144).

Billingsley (2-1, 4.85 ERA), who won in his last performance against Pittsburgh, will look to get the Dodgers back on track. Prior to last night, the Dodgers had won three in a row, due in part to strong pitching. The Dodgers offense continues to provide a ton of run support, but the pitching staff is not doing its part. The Dodgers offensively, have scored 137 runs and boast a team average of .278 (2nd in NL).

The Dodgers will host Milwaukee again tonight, and will face Doug Davis (0-3, 8.87 ERA). Game time is 7:10 pm PST.

The Dodgers are now without Rafael Furcal, who joins Manny Ramirez on the 15-day DL. Furcal, who signed an extension last season with the Dodgers, had just 6 RBIs in 81 at-bats this season.

Sorry for the short post. Hopefully, I will be able to post more frequently than I did last month (4 total).
